Korea Republic will open their tournament in Nelson Mandela Bay/ Port Elizabeth against Greece. They will then make the 1,060km trip to Johannesburg to play Argentina at Soccer City Stadium.

Travel options between Nelson Mandela Bay/ Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg

By plane: Most major airlines run daily flights between Port Elizabeth Airport and OR Tambo International Airport. Flights take an average of 1hr30.

By car: Driving from Port Elizabeth will take you around ten hours, but this is a rewarding route which meanders from the coastal towns to the interior. You can take the N2 road via Grahamstown, a place with spectacular settings and a great deal of historical significance. There are two routes you can take once you reach Grahamstown. One is to follow the route to Cradock then through some small towns such as Middleburg which will lead to you Mangaung/ Bloemfontein. Alternatively, you can make your way to Queenstown then take the N6 past Aliwal North, then onto Mangaung/ Bloemfontein. Once there, the N1 road will lead you to Johannesburg.

By bus: Most intercity bus companies service the route between Nelson Mandela Bay and Johannesburg. The trip will take you around 14 hours and in most cases will be overnight.

By train: Catch a train from Port Elizabeth train station in the city centre through Bloemfontein and on to Johannesburg’s Park Station also in the city’s centre. This might take a lot of time, but if you want to explore the country and in no hurry, this is certainly another option.

Korea Republic will then make the nice trip from Johannesburg to Durban to play Nigeria at the Durban Stadium for their final group match.
