Chile reached South Africa courtesy of a 4-2 victory over Colombia, and they were indebted to substitute Jorge Valdivia who scored one goal and created the other three. It is Chile's first appearance at the World Cup finals since 1998. Chile captain Claudio Bravo: "It was our mission to change the face of Chilean football. Chile have appeared in seven World Cup tournaments and were hosts of the 1962 World Cup finishing in third place. South Africa 2010 will be the first World Cup appearance of Chile since 1998 and they will face Spain, Honduras and Switzerland in a tough looking Group H.
